DAY 4 - May 16, 2009 - Champions are crowned!

Porterville, CA --- Champions were definitely crowned at the 2009 Porterville Fair's Next Big Thing Talent Show.

In the Kid's category AYLA STACKHOUSE walked away with the Next Big Thing title beating some tough competition. Her vocals and song choice were consistent each night of the talent show and proved that she has what it takes to be the Next Big Thing!

The Teen category title was awarded to the "Guitar Savage" ESTEBAN LEON. Leon became a two-time Next Big Thing Champion winning his first in 2008 at the Fresno Fair and winning his second at the Porterville Fair after spectators were left wanting more. The "Guitar Savage" will be performing on May 22 at the Livin Loud Live Concert on May 22.

Finally the Adult Category.

The Next Big Thing title was awarded to CHRIS STEWTS. Stewts was also consistent in every performance throughout the competition and was always in good spirits. His emotional reaction when he heard his name announced as the 2009 champion was one that will be remembered in Next Big Thing Talent Show history for years to come.

DAY 2 - May 14, 2009 - Contestants advance to Saturday's Finale

Porterville, CA --- Saturday's Finale for the 2009 Next Big Thing Talent Show at the Porterville Fair will feature some of the best local talent the Central Valley has to offer. And the showdown will take place in Porterville!

In the Kid's Category {which may be the toughest category to judge} will feature 2009's youngest contestant 6 year old Jaelyne Nieblas, Joseph Covarubias who surprised the entire crowd and even show Host Joey Perez when he expressed how excited he was to perform. Also competing in the Kid's division will be the very talented Ayla Stackhouse.

"I think this is the toughest Kid's division ever in our show's 7 year history", said Perez.

The Teen category will feature a variety of talent. Singer Nicole Russel aka "Nanas" who continues to perform her original tracks on stage and is consistent each performance. She will take on the "Guitar Savage" Esteban Leon who is looking to defend his Next Big Thing 2008 Fresno Fair title and also competing will be the talented dance group that continues to "wow" fair crowds, "Sensation".

"The teen category will feature a variety of talent at it's very best. You will see a talented singer, a phenomenal guitar player and an exciting dance group", said Perez. "I am personally excited to see which style of performance will walk away with the Teen title".

The show is will end with the Adult finalists which include rapper/dancer Sal Espinosa, singer Diana Creekmore and the always energizing singer Chris Stuets.

"Anyone can win it in the adult category this year", said Perez. "It's going to come down to who wants it more".

The Next Big Thing Talent Show Finale will take place Saturday May 16 with an 8pm start time.

Friday May 15 will feature the finalists performing in a warm up show. That show will start at 6:30pm.

Next Big Thing Talent Show BLOG:

DAY 1 - May 13, 2009 - No contestant is eliminated!

Porterville, CA --- Day 1 of the Next Big Thing Talent Show ended with a huge surprise as no contestants were eliminated from competition.

However show Host and J-Live Entertainment Founder Joey Perez asked for all contestants to be on their "A game" for Thursday night's performance as he guaranteed that there would be eliminations.

The show started with some crowd participation as free t-shirts were thrown and a dance contest with some participants from the audience had the packed  Porterville Fair audience cheering with excitement.

The show featured dancers, instrument players, rappers, and even an acapella performance.

Which performer will shine Thursday night? And who will be advancing to the finale on Saturday May 16 - 8pm??

The excitement and the drama of the Next Big Thing Talent Show officially begins Thursday May 14 starting at 6:30pm.
